Axis3 Design Studio – Our Process
Every design begins in the mind of our Clients. Over time we have learned that the best designs come from a shared collaborative dialogue where the client’s dreams and needs combine with Axis3 Studio’s experience and design skills. The sharing of needs and expertise often results in kitchen table discussions where tracing paper, markers and colored pencils are used to surface initial design ideas and bring them to reality.
Through a series of initial meetings we use conversations, notepads, sketches, diagrams and spatial gaming, and endeavor to transform initial ideas into schematic concept sketches that describe the preliminary design.
Once the preliminary 2D conceptual sketches are approved by the client we develop them further and bring 3D modeling into play to more fully explore the vertical aspects of the design. Once the developed design drawings are approved we move to a comprehensive production of the construction drawings which will allow construction of the final design.
We focus on a shared collaborative dialogue with the owners from the beginning to the end of the process, and we see it as critical to ensuring the success of both the design and of the eventual built project.
